Sprout collects nothing. This page exists to say that precisely, because an app used by young children should be able to explain itself in one sentence.
Sprout does not collect personal information for the developer, send it to a Sprout server, or sell it. It has no account, sign-in, analytics, advertising, or Sprout server. The app keeps its settings and content in local storage on your device. Purchases and restores use Apple's App Store service and are handled by Apple.
Sprout keeps the following in its app storage on your device:
Deleting the app removes Sprout's local data. A photo's original stays in your photo library, and Apple keeps the App Store purchase record that allows the unlock to be restored. If device backups are enabled, Apple may include app data in a device backup under its own service.
If you choose one of your own photos as a routine's picture, Apple's system photo picker gives Sprout only the image you selected. Sprout stores a local copy of that image in its own storage so it can draw it on the timer. Sprout does not receive or browse the rest of your photo library. The selected image is never uploaded, analysed, or shared by Sprout.
Sprout is designed for young children and is intended for the App Store's Kids Category. It contains no advertising, no third-party analytics, no social features, no chat, no user-generated content shared with anyone, and no external web, advertising, or social links. Sprout may open the device's system Settings when a parent chooses to change notification access. It collects no personal information from children, or from anyone.
Purchase options sit behind a parental gate. Sprout uses the device's system authentication, such as Face ID, Touch ID, or the device passcode. If the device has no passcode, Sprout shows an adult multiplication challenge instead.
The one-time unlock is processed by Apple through the App Store. Sprout never sees your payment details. It asks Apple whether this Apple Account owns the unlock or is eligible through Family Sharing. Sprout stores only whether the unlock is available on your device.
If you allow notifications, Sprout schedules a local notification so a finished timer can still tell you it is done when the app is in the background. Local means it is created and delivered by your own device. Nothing is sent to a server, and no notification content leaves the phone. Declining notifications does not affect the timer.
There are none. No analytics SDK, no crash reporter, no advertising identifier, no tracking across apps or websites, and no third-party code of any kind is bundled with Sprout.
If a future version of Sprout ever handles information differently, this page will be updated before that version ships, and the date at the top will change.
